Language & Accessibility Policy

Our commitment to making Guardian Angel accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Last Updated: July 21, 2025

1. Our Commitment to Global Accessibility

Domestic abuse is a global issue that transcends borders and languages. Guardian Angel is committed to becoming a universally accessible tool for survivors everywhere. This policy outlines our strategy for phased language implementation and our adherence to accessibility standards to ensure the app can be used by as many people as possible, regardless of their native language or ability.

2. Phased Language Rollout

Translating the entire application is a significant undertaking. We will approach this in phases, prioritizing languages based on user demand, regional partnership opportunities, and the prevalence of domestic abuse in specific linguistic communities. Phase 1 (MVP): The initial version of the app will be available in English. Phase 2 (Post-Launch): We will target major world languages such as Spanish, French, and Mandarin, based on funding and user feedback. Ongoing Expansion: We will continuously evaluate and add new languages as part of our long-term roadmap.

3. Use of AI for Translation

To accelerate our ability to offer multilingual support, we will utilize advanced AI-powered translation services as a first step for new languages. Initial Translation: AI will provide a baseline translation for user interface elements and informational content. Disclaimer & Feedback: All AI-translated content will be clearly marked, and we will provide an easy way for native speakers to provide feedback on accuracy and cultural appropriateness. Goal for Human Review: Our goal is to have all translations reviewed and refined by professional human translators and community members as resources permit, ensuring nuance and cultural sensitivity are respected.

4. Digital Accessibility Standards (WCAG)

We are committed to making Guardian Angel accessible to people with disabilities. Our development will aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a standard. This includes: - Ensuring compatibility with screen readers. - Providing sufficient color contrast. - Enabling keyboard navigation. - Writing clear and understandable content.

5. Feedback and Community Involvement

Our users are our most important partners in this process. We encourage you to reach out via our feedback channels to: - Request support for a new language. - Report any translation errors or suggest improvements. - Identify any accessibility barriers you encounter.
